Cambodia Gambling Halls

[ English ]

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall betting is not legal. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently needed to cross, there are means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that features many comforts on top of the casino, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
